He’s awesome.
He is cuddly, devoted, his paws smell good, he would do anything for you, and he will play fetch until you get tired.
Here are my two “men” in the pool…

And here I am, about to throw the ball in the pool for the umpteenth time.
Please try not to notice (Pam, Armour…) my Dale Earnhardt pajama pants.
John is slowly co-opting my Very Soul.
{Sigh}
Uh, huh. OK. Enough pics. I’ve got softballs to retrieve.
Thank you.

John’s favorite appeteaser: steamed artichokes with lemon-butter…I had to take a picture of the first “cut” in my house. (Up ’til now it’s been subs and pizzas. I am SICK of eating out.)
And I had to include these next three.
Here’s my hubbo, trying to get Deadeye to pay attention to him while Mom and I cooked…
Deadeye is more interested in the steak I’m trimming.
“Deadeye.
“DEADdddddeye!
“Hey, Buddy!”
…and yet, He is Unmoved.

Deadeye’s thinking: “Better luck next time, Bucko.
Youth and Enthusiasm are no match for Old Age and Treachery.”

Yep, she likes it.
(Now, if I could just get her to keep that tongue in her mouth…)

We had a great day with John’s old friends, the Fulks. Both daughters are childhood, lifelong friends, and it was great to finally meet them both. Christina has two girls – Gwyneth – who you see here showing me her lavender room (love it!) and little 3-year-old Madeleine, who was showing off her swimming.

And no more sign-in necessary! Check out our Best Friends - (you can also get ‘em at the link on the BlogRoll on the left.)
Ken took a command in Colorado and Max has been reassigned as an English professor at the U.S. Air Force Academy!
Here’s Max in the midst of their move out of the Maryland townhouse, being bombarded…see how cats do this? It’s unbelievable (ugh!) and inescapable as a cat-owner. (But secretly? I wouldn’t have it any other way.)
Here they are in front of their new Camp Trailer – LOVE it! Ken’s living there until Max MAKES him move into the house. (John would be doing exactly the same thing…)
I’d say Go Air Force – but that would be absolute Sacrilege. Besides, I’m sure there will be plenty of Army-Air Force football games in our future over the next few years.
So in that case…

Go Army Beat Air Force!

Poor Guy.
He had an operation yesterday to remove his lipoma (“fatty tumor” – please say that with an Austrian accent à la Arnold Schwarzenegger) from his right side. Check out that incision! Our dog is no sissy!
He also had his teeth cleaned while he was under.
So now he’s drooling, and lethargic. He’ll have a nice couple days at home to relax before he’ll go out exploring with us this weekend.

Here I am, in the little apartment, saying: “Jooo-ooohn! Give me the camera so I can take a picture!”
And here’s what I cooked for him…grass-fed, hormone-free Ribeyes. Yum!
And here’s why I cook for him…I can’t resist these two.
Welcome Home, Babe.

So here’s our boy…
Being very naughty.
When Armour was here, I pulled out all the stops and blew up the air mattress for him. (Nothing’s too good for my little brother, you know…) and Spectre promptly laid on it.
I love how Deadeye is peeking back there behind him…
